When real-world use exposes decisions the prototype does not reveal
01 - About
02 - Decisions
The main interactions worked, but were not deeply optimised for repeated use.
Impact
Small frictions accumulated over daily use.
Small click areas and the absence of batch actions required excessive precision for an on-the-go use case.
Impact
The experience did not keep pace with the user’s real-world pace in the market.
Actions such as deleting items or understanding whether a list was complete were not obvious.
Impact
It increased the cognitive load and the need for “discovery” through trial and error.
03 - Context
This project made it clear, in practice, that seemingly small decisions have a major impact on frequently used products. At times, I prioritised rapid delivery and technical feasibility at the expense of greater refinement of the usage context.
Having the product in production was essential to reveal these flaws — insights that would hardly emerge from prototypes or one-off tests alone.
04 - Impact
Although it is not a traditional “success case”, MiList represents a milestone in professional growth. It demonstrates my ability to:
Analyse critically my own decisions
Recognise real usability flaws
Transform continuous use into applied learning
05 - Results
These learnings went on to directly influence my work on subsequent projects, especially in paying attention to details, states and recurring actions.
Micro-interactions matter as much as main flows
Real-world use reveals hidden problems in early stages
Interaction scalability is essential in repetitive tasks
